Marketing Magic for Self-Publishers! |
|
| |
A No Nonsense Approach to Selling More Books |
|
| |
Congratulations on writing your book. As a author, you next move is to INCREASE EXPOSURE to your niche readers. |
|
| |
When I wrote my first book, I did not have the knowledge base on how to market. No one provided a road map so what I am about to share is five years of learning the dos and don'ts of self publishing. Let's start with a few road blocks you may experience. |
|
| |
My first road block I faced was a huge up front cost. For designing the cover and printing 100 books, I was quoted a price of $3,500. When I heard this I nearly felt out of my seat. Like salt on a wound, he told me that the price did not include editing.
One day while searching the web I came across a system where I could have my books listed on major book sellers web site, keep 100% of copyright and have 45% of each book sale DEPOSITED in my account the first of every month. Would you like to LEARN this SYSTEM? Before I expose it let me share my second road block experience. |
|
| |
I have send manuscripts to publishers but was shot down each time because I wasn't a house-hold name. They loved the cover, title and content, but without the literary clout like J. K. Rowling there wasn't an overwhelming motivation to draft me on their team. To counter, I worked with local book sellers to scheduled author signing. |
|
| |
My first author signing was an eye opening experience. As I approached the book store I saw a large posted of me and my book in full color on the front door. When I saw this I knew this was going to be a profitable signing boy was I wrong.
When I set up and stacked my books neatly on the table it was time to sell books. As the customers entered the store they just walked passed my table as if I was the invisible man. So I stepped up my game and activated Plan B that is operation chocolate treat.
When the customers saw the candy on the table they came running over but left as fast as they came. Unfortunately I did not have a Plan C to draw the customers back to my table.
At the end of the day I sold 20 books. I didn't mind selling 20 books but I realized that I needed a hyper drive marketing plan. Lastly, one would think two black eyes were enough but I was about to steam roll into roadblock #3. |
|
| |
Like many authors, I had the goal to become publish. I soon learned that many publishing companies do not accept authors with less than 10 books written. With just 1 book under my belt that door was immediately slammed.
After countless rejection letters with those stinging words, "sorry, not at this time I pressed on for answers on how to market my intellectual property. Driven to make that happen, I scheduled outreach events where ever I could. Eventually, I started selling books at trade shows, libraries, workshops, conferences and seminars.
The lesson learned, I must become the catalist to market and sell my book. Like me, never forget that there are no short cuts, you must be the driving force to move product.
Are you ready to learn the system? |
